Orwell View Barns Holiday Cottages Information
Things To Do On-Site
Feel free to explore our 700 acre farm or walk to the Butt and Oyster pub at Pin Mill or The Shipwreck pub at Shotley Marina. Walks have been designed for all levels of walker (folders of walks are in each barn) together with the local footpath map and local Landranger maps. Don't forget your walking boots / wellies!
110 acres of our permanent pasture are within the internationally acclaimed Orwell estuary SSSI and about 345 acres are within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Within these areas can be found at least 8 species listed in the BAP, including tawny and little owls, cornbunting, yellowhammers, linnets and lapwing. Over 100 species of birds have been identified on the farm. Come and try to spot them. There is a nature / spotting book in each cottage.
Snooker table, full-size table tennis, air hockey and outdoor Giant Connect 4.
Flat Grass Area
We have a flat grass area for children to play football and netball, and a larger grass area with views overlooking the River Orwell for kite flying, etc. There is masses of space for children to play safely.
We are located on the South Suffolk Cycle Route B and there are off road tracks around the farm. Bikes can be hired from Alton Water Cycle Hire. There's secure cycle storage available on the farm.
Artists, writers and photographers delight, from your door
This is the place, beneath wide East Anglian skies for poets, writers, readers, photographers and artists to pause and stare. Photography courses are available from Anthony Cullen at nearby Pin Mill.
Wireless internet connection is available in all of our accommodation but we are located in the countryside so it is slower than in the city.
You will have everything to hand in your barn but if you wish to venture further there are wonderful restaurants and pubs in the area offering a wide range of cuisine. See the Eating In and Out pages.
